The
Nigerian Diaspora Direct Investment Summit (NDDIS) yesterday organized an
international press conference at the Nigerian Embassy, London. Several
dignitaries from Nigeria and the United Kingdom where in attendance at the
event including the good-natured chairman (NDDIS), Bimbo Roberts Folayan, Representative of Kaduna
state Government – The Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade and Investment
– Alhaji Mohammed Yusuf; Nigerian
High Commissioner to the UK - Dr
Dalhatu Sarki Tafida, Media Director - Don Pedro Okojie and other distinguished personalities.
The highlight of the
conference was the announcement of the next NDDIS summit slated to be held on
June 12th & 13th in London, UK. The chairman of NDDIS
emphasised that the NDDIS has several economic transforming objectives designed
to stimulate a shift from Micro to SME businesses by introducing Diaspora
investment, expertise and business contacts with UK and other businesses from
around the world.
He further encouraged
Nigerians in the Diaspora to fight against all odds and work towards building
SMEs in Nigeria to drive the economy to greater heights.
