The first Coach to ever lead the Super Eagles to a World Cup, Clemens Westerhof yesterday was not allowed into the national stadium to shoot the story of his life.
Westerhof is in the country to shoot a story of his life and success as Nigeria's head coach during the golden era of soccer in the Nation.
The 74 year old dutch man came with a crew from VPRO, a TV network in homeland Holland and they wanted to take some visuals of Westerhof standing in the main bowl of the national stadium, where he had his best moments as Eagles Coach.
He was however denied access to the main bowl because he needed clearance from Abuja.
Westerhof described the problem as a shame and a big pity but he revealed he will return today to try again.
He said:“It is a shame. It is a pity", “The crew wanted to take pictures of where I achieved glory with Nigeria twenty years ago. We have been to Ota, the Honda pitch where we used to train.”
Today he will repeat the effort but now with the class of 1994 Eagles to be led by Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi, Dan Amokachi, Peter Rufai among others.
