The convict, who resides at Kado Village in Abuja, was charged with theft before senior magistrate, Abdullahi Illelah.
Illelah, who sentenced Ibrahim after he pleaded guilty to the charge, gave him an option of N3.000 fine.
“Though the accused person admitted committing the crime and did not waste the time of the court, he must punished” Illelah said.
The magistrate advised the convict to avoid indulging in criminal acts at such young age.
PC Odigiri Onah, the police prosecutor had earlier told the court that one Solomon Tama of SMA House in Jabi, Abuja, lodged a complaint against the convict at the Life Camp Police Station on May 22.
Onah said on the same date, at about 5 p.m. after the complainant dropped around Kado Estate roundabout, he discovered that Ibrahim had stolen his wallet.
According to him, the wallet contained the sum of N3, 500, as well as an indigene form and an ID card.
Onah said during police investigation the accused confessed that he committed the offence but refused to produce the stolen items.
